At Honeysuckle Homestead, we breed BBS Ameraucanas, which is the "Blue, Black, Splash" variety. These cold-hardy birds are known for their beards/muffs and those gorgeous blue eggs, and are some of the friendliest chickens we have on our farm. The hens and roosters are easy going and free-range very well.

We have blue roosters over our hens, so most of our chicks will be blue, with several black and splash mixed in.

Don't be mistaken, these are "true" Ameraucanas. Some Easter Eggers, or "Americanas", can be mistaken for true Ameraucanas, however, Easter Eggers are not a pure breed.
